If your sewing machine is not running as smoothly as it should or if it has simply been a while since its last service, we are always happy to help at Sew Knit Craft in Cambridge.
We are one of the few places locally to offer in-house sewing machine servicing, which means your machine is looked after right here by our experienced service technician. It is a service that many of our customers find reassuring, especially when they would rather leave their machine with a familiar local shop than send it away elsewhere.
We are happy to service almost any machine, whilst specialising in Janome, Bernina, and Pfaff. We also work with many other brands, so if you are unsure whether we can help, do get in touch and ask.
A sewing machine service helps keep your machine running smoothly and can often prevent small issues from becoming bigger ones. As a general guide, we recommend having your sewing machine serviced about once a year if it is used regularly. During a service, your machine is cleaned, oiled, adjusted, inspected, and tested to make sure everything is working as it should. If any worn parts need attention, we will always contact you before replacing anything.
One of the things our customers appreciate most is that there is no need to book in. You can simply bring your machine to the shop, leave it with one of the Sew Knit Craft team and we will take your details along with any notes about specific issues you may be having with your machine.
When bringing your machine in, it is best to include the plug and foot pedal and a case or cover if you have one. If not, a bag or box is absolutely fine.
We aim to have serviced machines ready for collection within 10 working days. If you need your machine back sooner, do let us know and we will always do our best to help.
Standard sewing machine servicing starts from £90, with Bernina Series 4, 5 and 7 from £110. This covers the service only. If your machine requires any replacement parts, these are charged in addition. We will always contact you first for approval before carrying out any extra work.
