Handmade by Tom in The New Forest, England, these wood buttons are fully functional and totally unique. The wood used for these buttons comes from Yew and Laburnum Trees taken from a private garden due to them becoming unsafe. He acquired the trees directly from the tree surgeon and has processed the timber from raw logs through the air drying process into the buttons you order today.
The method used to create these buttons is primarily woodturning on my lathe, however, there are a number of additional steps all requiring precision and hands-on care, from drilling the button holes to hand applying the Danish oil finish to each button. This creates a beautiful and durable finish that will not crack, chip, or flake.
As wood is a natural product the wood grain of your buttons will differ from the pictures.
These buttons are suitable for dry cleaning or a cool hand wash.
